The Sky's Not Falling!

Al Gore has won the Nobel Peace Prize for junk science. This award comes to him shortly after a British judge ruled that Al Gore told a string of untruths in An Inconvenient Truth, and that children should be warned about these untruths before a teacher shows the documentary in the classroom.

Al Gore pleads in his new book, The Assault on Reason (which is more of an assault on the Bush Administration than it is about science), that "We must stop tolerating the rejection and distortion of science. We must insist on an end to the cynical use of pseudo-studies known to be false for the purpose of intentionally clouding the public's ability to discern the truth."

Perhaps Mr. Gore should follow his own advice.

Holly Fretwell agrees with Mr. Gore on the point about the need to stop tolerating the distortion of science. Holly is the author of "The Sky's NOT Falling! Why It's OK to Chill About Global Warming," the alternative to Al Gore's Inconvenient Truth, and Laurie David's fear inducing global warming kid's book, "Down to Earth Guide to Global Warming."

Holly Fretwell is an adjunct professor at Montana State University, and a Research Fellow at the Property and Environment Research Center. No stranger to controversial issues, Professor Fretwell has consulted on timber export regulations in the Pacific Northwest and for the Center for International Trade in Forest Products. She has authored and co-authored numerous articles on natural resources issues, with a current emphasis on public lands management and educating students and teachers in environmental economics. Her articles have been published in both professional journals and the popular press, including the Wall Street Journal, Journal for Environmental Economics and Management, the Duke Environmental Law and Policy Forum, and Journal of Forestry.

Schmoozing With Terrorists and battling the illegal alien invasion

Three guests tonight will join Mrs. Pistachio and myself on Political Pistachio Radio. First, during the first segment of the show, we will be joined by Aaron Klein, author of "Schmoozing With Terrorists." Mr. Klein is an American journalist who had unprecedented access to jihad cells throughout the Middle East, and in those interviews performed by Aaron the terrorists revealed the details of their ideologies to him. Then, in the later part of the first half hour Terry Funderburk will pay us a return visit to talk about what has happened in his situation since the last time he was on our show. Terry is a South Carolina construction business owner who is going out of business because his competitors hire illegal aliens, thus pay lower wages to their workers. Terry, then, upset by the circumstances, protested with a sign in front of one of his competitors jobsites with a sign that indicated illegals were working on that job site. The police came, but not to take away the illegal aliens, but to arrest Mr. Funderburk.

Then, during the second half of the broadcast Mike Gray will call in to talk about his situation in Colorado. Mike Gray is an employee for Arapahoe County outside of Denver. When he is not at work for the county, he runs his own lawn care business. The truck he uses for his business is the same truck and trailer he uses for going to work at his day job with the county of Arapahoe. The sign on his trailer reads, "Lawn Services done with Pride by an English Speaking American." Because of the sign, his bosses at his job for the county threatened to let him go. Oh, he likes to wear a Border Patrol Cap too, by the way.

Do you know who Mike Gray is? Mike Gray is that lawn care worker that got in trouble for his sign last year. The Border Patrol hat wearing business owner advertised that his business was "Done with Pride by an English Speaking American!" However, his other job, Arapahoe County in Colorado, didn't like the sign, nor did the local bureaucrats, who, fearing someone might be offended, ordered Mike to can the sign (and the hat). Mike Gray decided to go get a lawyer instead. Well, guess what? Mike is my guest this Wednesday night on Political Pistachio Radio! And, as an added treat, Terry Funderburk, the South Carolina Roofer that claims his competitors are putting him out of business by hiring illegals, and was arrested for protesting at a job site where illegals were working, has indicated that he plans to chime in as well. Wednesday at 10 pm Eastern, 7 pm Pacific, will be a good night for Political Pistachio Radio, and a bad night for the illegal aliens.

Delaware State University Shooting

How much do you know about the recent shooting that happened on a Delaware college campus that left two wounded? Was this shooting related to the other shooting of incoming Delaware State students that were shot execution style at an elementary school in New Jersey by illegal immigrants? Was there any connection between this shooting and the rally organized to honor the so-called Jena Six the night before? Is the fact that Delaware State University is historically a black college a factor? Considering that this comes four months after the Virginia Tech shooting, would it have been worse if awareness was not higher in the wake of Virginia Tech? Or is this just another example of our society and its ever increasing spiral towards violence?

Tonight on my radio show I have scheduled John Zmirak, editor-in-chief of "Choosing the Right College", which outlines 134 colleges nationwide on the security on each campus, as well as the academic and social life on campus, to discuss the shooting at Delaware State University. He is a college security expert, and may be able to answer those questions, as well as inform us about the details regarding the stories of these shootings.

Brad Lord-Leutwyler

My guest today on Political Pistachio Radio is Brad Lord-Leutwyler. Brad is running for President of the United States, and based on what he had to say on last Wednesday's Episode of my radio show, he is an ardent supporter of the war against terror, and of our current presence on the battlefield of Iraq.

However, there are a few social issues we don't see eye to eye on. Two questions need to be answered. Why is he liberal on a few of the social issues? And do they really matter when confronted by an enemy such as Radical Islamism?

Where Are They Now?

A little less than a year ago Jenn of the Jungle mentioned Political Pistachio on My Point Radio, an internet radio show on Blog Talk Radio. She was impressed by a piece I wrote regarding abortion, and the slaughter of unborn children in the United States was brought up on the radio show that day. So, she mentioned my site, and then Phil (the Night Rider) decided to check out my site. He later then sent me an e-mail telling me he liked Political Pistachio, and that he had heard about it on the radio. After a little investigating, I figured out he meant that he heard about my site on internet radio. Then, after a guest spot on MyPoint Radio, and a few other shows, I decided to tackle the internet radio thing myself.

Political Pistachio Radio premiered on February 24th, 2007 on Blog Talk Radio. My first five episodes were without guests. I ran the shows myself, with the assistance of Mrs. Pistachio, and the improvement slowly grew. Honestly, thought, the first three shows sucked, but I guess that's how we learn. After a while, you just get sick of sucking and figure out how to do it better.

Then, on the sixth show, March 31, 2007, Bushwack from American And Proud joined us to tell us about his experience at the Gathering of Eagles rally in Washington D.C. Numbers were a little better than before, and I thought to myself, hey, there might be something to this having guests thing after all.

Well, I had a few more shows without guests, and a few more with guests, and then the guests began to contact me and ask if they could be on the show. Heck, I'm not one to turn away a guest, normally (though Tom is still waiting for an A-OK), so I brought them on. And the show got so busy that I had to go to two shows per week.

Now, let' take a look at some of the past guests and see how they are doing since being on the show. To tell you the truth, many of them are doing quite well. Surprisingly well.

Gary W. Moore: Gary wrote a book called Playing With The Enemy, and seriously, it is probably the best book you will ever read. He's been on the show twice now, and his humble beginnings have spawned a major motion picture based on the book that will be in theaters on Father's Day of 2008. And when he can tell us the name of the big stars in the flick, Political Pistachio (and her sister sites at Townhall, Yahoo360, and MySpace) readers and listeners will be the first to know.

Loki called into Political Pistachio Radio on May 12, 2007, when the separation of church and state was brought up, and then explained why it is false when people claim such separation of church and state is in the United States Constitution. He now hosts The Halls of Valhalla at Blog Talk Radio.

Paul Couturier first appeared on Political Pistachio Radio as a guest on May 19th. He is a veteran of the Iraq War, which was the main reason at the time he was asked to be on the show. Paul has since become a radio host himself over at Independently Correct Radio, and through his involvement with The Gathering of Eagles, has been chosen to host the upcoming Gathering of Eagles television show.

Lee Culpepper appeared on Political Pistachio Radio on May 26, 2007 to discuss the state of the pulic education system. The show was a great success, and stirred a lot of debate regarding the voucher idea, private schools, and homeschooling. Culpepper is a Marine turned teacher with a blog over at townhall. Now, Townhall has chosen him to also be one of their columnists. Read his first article as a columnist HERE.

Cary Cartter is a fellow blogger, and is running for president. He first appeared on Political Pistachio Radio on June 2, 2007, and will return on October 6th. He is a Christian Conservative whose campaign is growing rapidly. Tune in on the 6th to hear where he stands on the issues.

Rob Ballister and Jeff Edwards are authors with unique books on the market at this time. Rob's is God does have a sense of humor, and was brought on to talk about his survival of cancer. At the time of that episode of Poltical Pistachio Radio, I had just discovered that my son had cancer. Jeff Edwards joined Political Pistachio on June 23rd, and his book, Torpedo, is the best military novel I have read, hands down. Beats the heck out of Clancy, and the story moves much faster than Clancy's too.

Bob Anderson from What Are We Fighting For! visited Political Pistachio Radio on July 30, and is considering his own Blog Talk Radio show.

Paul Ibbetson is the author of Living Under the Patriot Act: Educating a Society. Since appearing on Political Pistachio Radio on July 7th, has become a radio host himself, and on terrestrial radio - FM to be exact. His show is called The Conscience of Kansas with Paul A. Ibbetson.

John Bootie's campaign is in full swing, and he is planning on returning soon to Political Pistachio Radio.

Governor Jim Gilmore came on Political Pistachio Radio after he withdrew from the presidential race to discuss why he withdrew, and why it is so important for our nation to return to Conservative Principles. He also blogs at Decision Virginia. When on the show he hinted at running for the Senate, but no declaration has been made yet.

Steve Maloney, the National Coordinator for Sarah Palin (Governor of Alaska) continues to blog about Sarah, and become more and more involved.

Richard Michael Smith is still in the race for President.

John Kanaley joined Political Pistachio Radio shortly before a special election for the House of Representatives. He is an Iraq War Veteran running for office, and on August 21 he lost the election to his Democratic Opponent who is also a large Bush Critic. He has since returned to his job as a Policeman in Long Beach.

Atlas Shrugs graced Political Pistachio Radio on August 11, 2007, with her presence. She continues to be one of the biggest bloggers out there.

Terry Funderburk told his story about how the illegal aliens are driving him out of business, and continues that fight.

Eagles Justin and Kit continue to blog and be involved with the Gathering of Eagles.

Walid Shoebat explained the dangers of Islam, explaining he understands it because he used to be an Islamic Terrorist, but now had converted to Christianity. Shortly after he visited Halls of Valhalla for a debate with a Christian that had converted to Islam.

Brian Nordval of the Loyalist Party went over the issues with us, and plans to have one of his presidential candidates on Political Pistachio Radio soon.

Andrea Shea King was a guest on Political Pistachio Radio and has been invited to speak at the Conservative Leadership Conference. She has since also asked me to host her Monday Night shows on Blog Talk Radio.

Gathering of Eagles Takes their positions in Washington D.C.

ANSWER, which in my opinion has the wrong answer, will be marching on Washington D.C. today in a massive anti-war/anti-military/anti-patriotism/anti-America march. They will be waving their black and yellow banners (rather than the red, white and blue of the Star Spangled Banner), and flags of other countries (more often than not the flags of nations the terrorists use as breeding grounds and training locations, as well as those of nations that openly sponsor Islamic Terror).

The Gathering of Eagles will be there to meet them head-on.

The Gathering of Eagles was formed to protect our monuments and memorials. Last January anti-military/anti-American morons from the far left (representing groups like ANSWER) urinated on the memorials in Washington D.C. and spray painted the steps of the Capitol. Last week vandals damaged the Vietnam War Memorial. This will not be tolerated, and the Eagles will be there to make sure these anti-American jerks won't cause more damage as they whine and cry their way through D.C. on their treasonous route.

Unfortunately, they will, as they have in the past, do despicable things like disrespect the American Flag and burn effigies of American Soldiers, but there will be an answer to ANSWER, and they are the Gathering of Eagles.

Kit Lange of Euphoric Reality will be one of those Eagles. She, with tens of thousands of others, will protect our memorials, and stand up for our troops, today in Washington D.C.

Then, she will call live into Political Pistachio Radio today at 8pm Eastern/5pm Pacific to tell us about the events. A few other Eagles may be calling in as well, such as Paul Couturier (Iraq War Veteran and host of Indepedently Correct Radio), and Justin of Right on the Right. On my way to work a radio program played footage from 9/11 and I found myself weeping. I came home last night and spent time with my wife in silence. I was sent a video by a friend of the Palestinians celebrating after the World Trade Center attack. I watched it in silence.

The ensuing War on Terror has many battle fronts, and one of them is in Iraq.

General Petraeus was correct in his assessment. Any decision to bring American troops home from Iraq must be made from "strength and success, not fear and failure.

Tonight Paul Couturier will join me on Political Pistachio Radio at 7pm Pacific Time, 10 pm Eastern. I will begin my show with audio from 9/11. I will speak on my thoughts regarding that horrendous day. Paul will tell us his thoughts, as well, I am sure, as well as give us a little more insight on how important that battle in Iraq is in this War on Terror. Then we will turn our focus on The Gathering of Eagles Event.

The anti-military crowd, by the way, has struck again against our monuments to our heroes in Washington D.C. They damaged the Vietnam Wall. More wish to do the same on September 15, 2007.

As a young man he became a member of the Palestinian Liberation Organization, and participated in acts of terror and violence against Israel. He was later imprisoned in the Russian Compound, Jerusalem's central prison for incitement and violence against Israel. He later entered the U.S. as a counselor for the Arab Student Organization at Loop College in Chicago and continued his anti-Israel activities and as a recruiter for Islam. He believed the PLO was too moderate at that time and chose to join the Muslim Brotherhood (forerunner of Hamas), and was training for Jihad in America. In 1993 Walid realized he was on the wrong side, and became an advocate for Israel, and against terrorism.

He will be on my program to discuss the dangers of Islamism, how we can fight back as a nation, and explain zip-lock virgins as first mentioned on Dr. Blogstein's radio program on August 14.

Terry Funderburk and Illegal Aliens

Terry Funderburk is a businessman who owns a roofing business in South Carolina. He understands more than most the damage that is being caused against Americans by illegal aliens running amok in our fine nation. He runs an honest business and is being put out of business because of companies hiring illegal aliens to do the same kind of work at “slave wages.”

Mad as hell, he decided to do something about it! He picketed the job site of one of his competitors, and was arrested for it.

When I am not spending time with my family, the internet, or my radio show, I work in the construction industry. When I brought up Terry's story to my boss about how he feels his business is in jeopardy because paying legal wages to legal workers places him at a disadvantage, making it difficult to compete, my boss's response was, "That goes for half the construction companies in Southern California as well."

Terry is the new image of the American Worker. He took a stand, and was arrested for it. This is no longer a government of the people, by the people, and for the people. This current system is favoring those that are not even citizens by providing them with preferential treatment.

Terry says: “It is time to get angry, fellow Americans, it is time to get out of your homes and start setting things right again. It is time to vote out all of the bums who are profaning this great nation and to set her right again. It is time to take back our country.”

An Iraq War Veteran Running for Congress on Political Pistachio Radio!

Today (Wednesday, August 8, 2007 at 7pm Pacific Time/10pm Eastern Time) is a special mid-week edition of Political Pistachio Radio. Our guest will be John Kanaley. John is an Iraq War Veteran that actually voluntarily extended his tour so that he may serve in Baghdad. In 2003 he served for Central Command in Qatar and Iraq; in 2004 John served with the Theater Support Command in Kuwait with additional assignments in Iraq; In 2005 he served in Baghdad with the Civil-Military Operations to assist with the Iraqi elections as well as serving as a Team Chief for future plans in Strategy, Plans, and Assessments (SPA) with Multi-National Forces, Iraq (MNFI). His second tour ended in October 2006. The seat in the 37th Congressional District in California is vacant due to the death of Juanita Millernder-McDonald, who lost her battle with cancer in April. John Kanaley is campaigning as a Republican for the seat which will be decided by special election on August 21. In addition to his military career he has also served in the Long Beach Police Department with 16 years of service. His Army career spans over 22 years as active military, National Guard, and Reserves. In the Army he is a Lieutenant Colonel. His purpose for running for Congress, according to his site, is to add support in Congress for the War on Terror from somebody who served in Iraq, support the GOP in its effort to regain control of Congress in 2008, ensure the concerns of Long Beach, California are heard in Congress, make the tax cuts permanent, and promote business at all levels throughout his district.

Sarah Palin

I have returned from the heat of Sin City unscathed, just in time to host my Blog Talk Radio Show, Political Pistachio Radio. Today's guest is Stephen R. Maloney who is one of the national coordinators for Sarah Palin for Vice-President on the Republican national ticket.

Steve is a former college teacher of English and a writer for many publications (including Fortune and the American Spectator). He wrote speeches for many large corporations and has been a political activist involved in many campaigns, starting with Newt Gingrich in the 70's and extending through the Diana Lynn Irey campaign last year.

Sarah Palin is the current Governor of Alaska (the 11th), and is youngest governor in Alaska's history, as well as the first female to hold the office. She is the former mayor of Wasilla, AK. Palin steadfastly maintains that she is a conservative, evidenced by her strong position on abortion (she is pro-life) and she opposes same-sex marriage.

Steve will be available to not only help us with learning about this fascinating candidate, but perhaps to also educated us on her stance regarding certain issues. And with a little luck, perhaps we will be able to get Sarah on the show in the near future as well.

Yesterday's Political Pistachio Radio, which is now playing on the media player on this site if you are listening within a week of the broadcast, was a successful episode. Governor James Gilmore, one of the more influential members of the Republican Party, took time from his busy schedule to be a part of the program. We spoke with him about his recent withdrawal from the Presidential Race, as well as his position on a number of issues, including the war on terror and the immigration issue. Listener participation was amazing. I had a number of callers submit questions to Mr. Gilmore, and I also fielded a number of questions submitted by Yahoo Messenger. Thank you for the support.

Broken Chances and Suffering Redeemed

Gene Moore had life ahead of him. At 15 the Brooklyn Dodgers had a scout in Sesser Illinois checking out his play at catcher for the local baseball team. World War II and tragedy after tragedy followed. His life became one of broken dreams, and life took turns Gene did not expect. And through it all he learned that it was those tragedies that made him the man he needed to be, and gave him the life he desired. Life is a long journey, and sometimes the destination is not always in sight.

Gary W. Moore pieced together the fractured details of his father’s life and put it all into a book. The story of Gene Moore’s journey through baseball, World War II, being a prison guard over German POW’s and teaching them baseball, and reaching a triumph he didn’t expect, is all in Playing With The Enemy. Playing With The Enemy

Twenty years ago Ronald Reagan electrified millions of people behind the Iron Curtain when he demanded in a speech, "Mr. Gorbachev, tear down this wall!"

Sixty-seven years ago Gene Moore played baseball in Sesser, Illinois on a neighborhood team called the Egyptions. He was a big farm kid, six feet tall and only fifteen years old, when he was first noticed by a big league scout.

One year from now the story of Gene Moore will reach the big screen as a major motion picture. The movie is based on a book written by Gene's son, Gary W. Moore, titled: Playing With The Enemy.

After World War II the Cold War between the United States and the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics commenced.

When World War II came to America in late 1941 in the form of an attack on Pearl Harbor, Gene Moore's baseball career was put on hold and he entered the United States Navy.

Nuclear tensions shaped society through the 1950's and 60's, marked by nuclear bombing drills where kids hid under their desks, and McCarthy searched for those that conspired with the enemy.

The reality of war shaped Gene Moore's life as he joined a special military baseball team created to entertain the troops in North Africa and played the game he loved as fighting loomed in the distance (eventually reaching the ball field and killing his centerfielder).

During the Cold War in East Berlin citizens feared secret police, enemy spies, and the stigma of Nazi Germany.

During World War II, after Gene Moore was no longer required to play baseball for the troops, he was sent to guard German prisoners of war in Louisiana, eventually teaching them to play baseball, and creating bonds that would last a lifetime.

During the 1980's communism was in crisis. Corruption had reached crippling levels. The technological revolution threatened to leave centrally planned economies permanently behind. Communism had failed its true believers. In East Germany, anger built until by 1989 five percent of German adults had taken the risk of being branded disloyal by requesting exit visas. Hungary began allowing East German tourists to slip through to the West, and it was becoming obvious, thanks to Reagan's strategies, that Marxism-Leninism would not be able to stay in place. Yet, despite the unrest, most Germans were still convinced that the prospect of a single Germany was a fantasy, even weeks before the wall fell.

May 13, 1983 Gene Moore passed away, leaving only clues about his past as it pertained to World War II and Baseball. Gene's wife was the only person that knew all of the details of Gene's remarkable life story, and it wasn't until much later that Gary W. Moore, his son, began putting the pieces together and began to write the book, Playing With The Enemy.

Communism became one of the numerous failures of history. Ronald Reagan first saw the Berlin Wall in 1978, and told his aide Peter Hannaford, "We've got to find a way to knock this thing down." After Reagan became president, he returned in 1982 and enraged the Soviets by taking a couple of ceremonial steps across a painted border line. Then, in 1987, he overruled his own State Department by giving the momentous speech in which he implored the general secretary directly to tear down the wall.

It wasn't until Gary W. Moore truly understood the history of his father's life that he was able to understand many of the shadowy incidents of his own past as they related to his father, Gene Moore. It was then that he truly understood the man he called father, and came to appreciate him in ways that he wished he could have told his father while he still walked the Earth.

It wasn't until after the tide of history changed and the Berlin Wall fell that we truly understood the reasons for Reagan's actions when dealing with the Soviets. The fallen Berlin Wall was both a vindication of the West's refusal to give in to the Soviets and a tribute to the spirit of those dissenters behind the Iron Curtain. Sadly, Russia is slipping back into authoritarianism.

The movie based on Gary W. Moore's book, Playing With The Enemy, will premiere in theaters on Fathers Day 2008, and the countdown begins on Political Pistachio Radio this Saturday. His publisher has authorized my radio show to give away two autographed copies of the book to two lucky listeners. Political Pistachio Raises Cancer Awareness

Today's guest is Rob Ballister. Blog Talk Radio has taken notice and wrote a blog entry regarding the show. Read the blog post HERE.

My son was recently diagnosed with testicular cancer. Last Friday he underwent surgery to remove the cancerous mass, and yesterday underwent a CT Scan to make sure the cancer has not spread to the rest of his body, primarily through his lymphatic system. The readers of Political Pistachio have been following this story as news becomes available, and their comment and e-mail response has been wonderful.

The President of the American Authors Association, Maria Edwards, contacted me and recommended that I speak with Rob Ballister, for he has endured the same cancer. After e-mailing with him, it was agreed that our interaction ought to take place on Blog Talk Radio. Rob Ballister, as a result, will be my guest on Political Pistachio Radio this upcoming Saturday.

Rob Ballister is the author of the book "God Does Have a Sense of Humor." He is a Naval Academy graduate and is currently an officer serving in the United States Navy. His book is about his journey through dating, growing up in New Jersey, and surviving Testicular Cancer. His cancer also spread into his lymphatic system, and the battle became long and arduous. Now, as a cancer survivor, he has chosen to use humor and wit to tell about his battle with the dreadly disease. The opportunity to have him on Political Pistachio to relay his pearls of wisdom is especially important to me, considering my son's current battle with the same type of cancer.

As an added note, when I last received an e-mail from Rob, he was eager to send my son an autographed copy of his book, hoping that his story would be inspirational to my 22 year old son as he continues through this stressful part of his young life. The book is on its way.

Make A Difference - Vote For Common Sense - Write In Cary Cartter for President in 2008

Monday Campaign Notes

I received this e-mail from a close friend after he listened to the Political Pistachio Radio show from Saturday, June 2. Douglas Gibbs had invited me on as the primary guest. My friend (I'll call him "Toby") has some good points, and I will address them throughout:

Cary,

Thank you for your service to our country! I consider you a good friend and I want you to succeed!

Thank you, Toby. I'd like to succeed, also.

I agree with most everything you stand for because I'm a right-wing conservative through and through. I have, generally, just a few minor points of disagreement and they probably have to do with interpretation. I know you are serious about your concern for this country and your fellow man. But what I'm not sure about is your seriousness about being elected President in 2008. I think you enjoy the rhetoric, but not campaigning for the Presidency. And, it seems to me, you don't think or act in terms of one anticipating actually serving as the President. I hope I'm wrong.

Serious? I'm serious about getting attention paid to what We The People are trying to tell our so-called representatives. They don't seem to be listening, and if my campaign gets their attention, and they think about what they are doing to this country, then my job is finished. No, I don't enjoy campaigning - especially since I have a daughter I would rather be spending my free time with - but it is for her sake that I want this country to correct it's course back to the conservative roots it was founded on.

How does one act in anticipation of uprooting his family, living in two places, and trying to run the country when one's wife does not wish to travel? I am constantly struggling with what the future might bring. If I do end up in the Oval Office, what effect will it have on not just my family, but my church family? As you know, I'm involved in the leadership of the church - what will happen if I need to take a long break? How will the exposure affect my family and my church? Will the media dig into all the past details of everyone involved? They tend to have less compassion for past acts that have been forgiven than we as Christians do.

Let me ask a few hard questions that I think anyone who considers writing in your name on a ballot must ask-

How is voting for you not like throwing away my vote?

I can't guarantee that voting for me would not be throwing away your vote, anymore than voting for any of the candidates would be throwing away your vote. I know that voting for me would be taking votes away from career politicians, which is a good thing in the long run, but my hope is that enough dissatisfied people in both parties, the ones who have common sense, and don't like the direction the country is headed, will vote for me - and if that's enough to land me in DC, then so be it. God is in control, and places our leaders in position. Maybe this latest iteration of leadership is God's way of issuing a wake up call to this country - "See what happens when you don't pay attention?" I don't know.


Besides being a former Marine and running for President, what have you done and what are you doing that puts into action the things you stand for on a local, state or national level?

Locally - I don't use day labor. The majority of the day labor pool is in this country illegally. Yes, there are some legal residents who make themselves available through day labor, or Home Depot curb service, but I can't see taking that chance statistically. On a state level, I communicate with my representatives on the issues. On a National level, I have managed to get Ed Pastor to send me a note saying he wasn't going to respond to faxes that I have sent through a third party system - especially since he has made his position clear. So much for letting your "representatives" know how you feel. No, I didn't vote for him - but since he does "represent" my disctrict, shouldn't he know how I feel? I make my feelings known on my blog, http://www.itisobvious.blogspot.com (I'm Thinking of the "O" Word) and through comments left on other blogs.

How can you succeed when so many others (with training, experience and political clout) have failed?

Again, no guarantees. But, since I don't have the clout, I also am not subject to influence by major factors - corporations, money funds, whatever. I am an average working joe - and I think that my outlook on politics is pretty close to what the rest of the working nation is - that this country is not the first concern of the Career Politicians.

There they are. I believe when you have done a good job of answering these then you have something to offer the voting public that will cause them to hear you and consider you. I offer them only to assist you in your bid for the Presidency and not to discourage you.

Like I said before, Thank You - not only for believing in me, but for caring enough to give the feedback you have.

We all (me included) are great Monday morning quarterbacks, but the people who win games go in knowing what it takes to win. Lots of people know what's wrong (or at least think they do) - what "we the people" need is someone who not only has a plan to fix it, but can provide leadership on many levels and draw together not only friends of one's positions but enemies to them. I am unsure that it can be done without being able to understand and use politics to one's advantage - political savvy. Political savvy goes way beyond knowing the rules and the issues and certainly requires considerable experience.

You are absolutely correct - political savvy goes a long way - in the environment that is in place now. But like I asked on the program, Why don't WE THE PEOPLE know what it takes to run this country? Why the secrecy? Why the back-room dealings? Why can't the average concerned citizen step up and take part in the representative republic we call The United States of America? I think it needs to change back to being a government OF the people, BY the people, and most importantly FOR the people.

I'm not familiar with the general format, but I thought you weren't given enough time to make your major points.

I'll let Doug know. I'm sure he'd appreciate the feedback - but it is his show, and he loves to talk. That's why he has the show.

I also think I disagree with you on one fundamental point - once a society accepts law as having a place in that society the only thing that law can do is legislate what actions are acceptable in the legal sense - which is a form of morality. Law cannot by its very nature control one's thinking of murder or theft, but can only hope to curtail such socially unacceptable behavior by enforcement of restrictions and punishments. Crime may not necessarily be a sin, but our legal system is without a doubt based upon a view of the morality portrayed in the Bible.

Good point. There is also the philosophy of "societal legal agreement" - that is, once a set of rules has been agreed upon, with agreed upon consequences if said rules (or laws) have been breeched, then all in that society must abide by the same laws. If authority allows certain segments of the population to ignore the rules, or if a certain segment of the population does not receive the agreed upon punishment for not following the rules, then you have other segments of the population that will start testing which rules are enforced. Once this starts, then the segment of the population that has the moral backbone to continue to follow the rules in spite of them not being enforced will start to get very upset with authority - and either revolution or replacement is the next step.

June 2: Cary Cartter of "It Is Obvious" and 2008 Presidential Candidate will be joining us to discuss politics, the war, and his bid for President of the United States.

June 9: Rob Ballister, Author of the book: God Does Have A Sense Of Humor will be on the show to not only talk about his book, but his incredible story regarding surviving cancer. Due to the recent news of my son being diagnosed with cancer, this definitely hits home.

June 16: Gary W. Moore, the author of Playing With The Enemy, comes back for a second PPR installment, and this time he is bringing along with him his publisher, Ted Savas. Perhaps Gary will have more news regarding the motion picture being filmed regarding his book! And on this episode we will give away two autographed copies of his books to two lucky Political Pistachio Radio listeners. Rules are: E-mail me a question you would like me to ask Gary, and the two best questions will be asked on the show, giving full credit to you (as well as a plug for your site), and you will receive (should you be the winner of one of the two questions that I and Mrs. Pistachio choose) an autographed copy of Gary's book, Playing With The Enemy (free of charge to you - publisher will also pay shipping and handling!) Oh, and until the show with Paul Couturier, the first interview with Gary W. Moore held the record for the most listened to PPR show. This will prove to be a very informative and enjoyable show.

June 23: Jeff Edwards, author of Torpedo, which is reminescent of Clancy, but in my opinion is better than most of what Clancy has ever written, will be our guest. Jeff is a retired U.S. Navy Chief Petty Officer, and an Anti-Submarine Warfare Specialist. He is currently working as an expert civilian advisor to the Naval Mine and Anti-Submarine Warfare Command, and Naval Space Warfare Systems Command. A combat veteran, Jeff is a recipient of the Combat Action Ribbon, the Navy Commendation Medal, the Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, campaign ribbons for Operation Desert Shield/Desert Storm, the liberation of Kuwait, and numerous other medals and citations. His naval career spanned more than two decades and half the globe - from chasing Soviet nuclear attack submarines during the Cold War, to launching cruise missiles in the Persian Gulf. Trained extensively in mainframe computers, weapons systems, and naval combat tactics, he brings an experience-based edge of authenticity to his writing. His novel, Torpedo was the winner of the 2005 Admiral Nimitz Award and the 2005 American Author Medal. Torpedo has recently been optioned by film producer Paul Sandberg (The Bourne Supremacy). Jeff is hard at work on his next novel, a naval thriller tentatively titled ‘The Seventh Angel.’ This is one episode of Political Pistachio Radio you don't want to miss!

June 30: Bob Anderson heads a grass roots effort for change - to re-Americanize America. What Are We Fighting For? is based on the tenets that the founding fathers of this great nation believed in their actions, and their actions matched their words. His last mission was a six month tour of duty in Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. While there, he served as the Chief Enlisted Manager of the 732d Expeditionary Security Forces Squadron. He received numerous awards and citations including the Bronze Star, Meritorious Service Medal/ 3 devices, Air Force Commendation/1 device, Air Force Achievement Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal and the Iraqi Freedom Medal. Bob is the founder of What Are We Fighting For?™, an organization focused on re-Americanizing America. He is also president of Back To Basics International, a professional speaking and training organization focusing on excellence and accountability. Bob is a published author and holds two Ph.D.’s. He is on the board of directors of the World Safety Organization, and a member of multiple associations including the National Speakers Association, Air Force Security Police Association, Air Force Sergeants Association, Air Force Association, American Legion and Veteran’s of Foreign Wars (VFW).

July 7: Paul Ibbetson is a published author and lecturer on the Patriot Act. He is a former Chief of Police of Cherryvale, Kansas, and member of the Montgomery County Drug Task Force. Paul received his Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Criminal Justice at Wichita State University, and is currently completing his PhD. in sociology at Kansas State University. Paul is the author of the book “Living under the Patriot Act: Educating a Society”, as well as director of the “Patriot Act Research Website”.

July 14: John Bootie will be our guest. He is an Independent candidate for President. He is a grass roots conservative who is tired of politics as usual. He will discuss his campaign, and what he plans to do for our country if he was elected as President of the United States of America.

Indoctrination of our Children

We will also discuss the voucher plan that has been so far defeated by liberalism out of fear that it may make our schools actually have to compete with private schools, the teacher that decided to show Brokeback Mountain to her 12 year old students in Chicago, the teen accused of a hatecrime and jailed without bail for distributing anti-gay pamphlets on campus, and a whole plethora of issues affecting both us and our children as it pertains to the agenda to change America!

Paul Couturier on PPR

Political Pistachio Radio is growing by leaps and bounds. Numbers are getting higher with each episode (though I have to admit the archive record held by the show with Gary W. Moore in April still stands unbeaten).

Paul has been serving in the Army National Guard for 26 years. He served in Iraq as a part of Operation Iraqi Freedom from 2003 to 2004. He only asks that you remember he is still serving in the Guard so sometimes he will need to choose his words carefully. He is forthright and honest regarding the war, but will not place the troops at a disadvantage in any way, shape, or form.

Saturday, June 16, 2007 4pm Pacific/7pm Eastern, Gary Moore of "Playing With The Enemy" may join us (waiting for final affirmation). He was interviewed by Political Pistachio Radio on April 7, 2007 and that show has been the most listened to of all PPR episodes. He will be back the day before Father's Day one year prior to the release of the Major Motion Picture release of the movie based on his book about World War II, Baseball, and a field of broken dreams. Maybe we'll be able to get him to tell us who the big star is that the movie landed for one of the starring roles! Tune in and find out.

When Liberalism adds the straw that breaks the camel's back

This Saturday Political Pistachio Radio will return to its normal time at 4pm Pacific/7pm Eastern. I will address the latest on the political war over the war on terror, more Global Warming lies, liberal lunacy, a little more on abortion (such as how Nancy Pelosi has been told by the church not to call herself Catholic anymore because of her pro-abortion stance), how Mexico is strong against Central American Illegal Aliens, America's pursuit of "Pleasure", and how I wound up in a head-0n struggle against the illegal alien issue on my job (including a statement in Spanish against me by a Mexican that proclaim "Our Community, Our Rules." How will I get this all in during a one hour show? Tune in on Saturday and find out.

Political Pistachio Radio airs a little early this week

My wife and I have scored tickets (thanks to my mom and dad) for the Stage Coach California Country Music Festival, so this week's show will air live at 7am Pacific/10am Eastern.
