The Day I Died

There is no special guest planned for November 3rd on Political Pistachio Radio. I plan to be my own guest. But, it will be a special show. You see, on July 1, 1985 an event occurred that changed my life forever. I died.

Mrs. Pistachio and I had been married for less than a year, and our son was three months old. I died on the scene of the accident at 1:30 AM. I was not found for a while. It is estimated that I stopped breathing for a full twenty minutes, ensuring that major brain damage occurred. They resuscitated me on the Life Flight helicopter to the hospital, which was over 30 miles away. I remained in intensive care in a deep coma for a week and a half, requiring a respirator to breath, draining spinal fluid from my cracked skull for the first three days. I remained "out of it" for two more months, experiencing 80 seizures per day once I became cognizant. I had to learn how to walk again, and it took two years to fully recover.

On November 3rd I will tell my story to my audience, and have my wife on the air to tell her side of it too. Listeners will not want to miss this tale of miracles and true love between my wife and I as we struggled through this storm in our life.

The broadcast will air live on Political Pistachio at 7pm Eastern Time, 4pm Pacific on Saturday, November 3, 2007.

Stopping Hillary and the Marxists of the Democratic Party

How important is the hunt for a Red November in 2008? As discussed on The Andrea Shea King Show earlier this evening, is the need to keep the Socialists that call themselves Democrats urgent enough to place a Liberal in Elephant's clothing, like Rudy Giuliani, on the ballot, since he seems the best candidate capable of attracting the all-important swing votes?

As a Conservative, that seems a compromise that I don't wish to make - but is it the necessary move to keep someone like Hillary Clinton out of the White House?

Tuesday Night my guest is Trek Medic. He will join us to talk about the need for a Red November, and what steps must be taken to ensure such a move. Live broadcast begins at 10pm Eastern Time, 7pm Pacific on Political Pistachio Radio.

Christian Radio hosted from Sin City

Did you miss Andrea Shea King's Monday Night Blog Talk Radio Show?

Well, judging by the picture on the right, Andrea is someone to listen to. She's a big voice in conservative talk radio - and any friend of Sean Hannity's is a friend of mine.

Well, actually I became a fan long before I discovered she has a few wonderful friends in high places. And, she discovered me before she was absolutely sure what the heck a Political Pistachio truly was.

And now we have really come together on Monday nights. That's right, if you are new to Political Pistachio, I co-host with Andrea Shea King on Monday nights on Blog Talk Radio. But honestly, as much as I enjoy the show, this last one was the best yet. We discussed the Southern California Fires, and the Republican Debate in Florida, and what a great broadcast it turned out to be. But don't take my word for it. Check out the archive at Blog Talk Radio - The Andrea Shea King Show!

And while you are at it, check out this upcoming schedule for Political Pistachio!

The Sky's Not Falling!

Al Gore has won the Nobel Peace Prize for junk science. This award comes to him shortly after a British judge ruled that Al Gore told a string of untruths in An Inconvenient Truth, and that children should be warned about these untruths before a teacher shows the documentary in the classroom.

Al Gore pleads in his new book, The Assault on Reason (which is more of an assault on the Bush Administration than it is about science), that "We must stop tolerating the rejection and distortion of science. We must insist on an end to the cynical use of pseudo-studies known to be false for the purpose of intentionally clouding the public's ability to discern the truth."

Perhaps Mr. Gore should follow his own advice.

Holly Fretwell agrees with Mr. Gore on the point about the need to stop tolerating the distortion of science. Holly is the author of "The Sky's NOT Falling! Why It's OK to Chill About Global Warming," the alternative to Al Gore's Inconvenient Truth, and Laurie David's fear inducing global warming kid's book, "Down to Earth Guide to Global Warming."

Holly Fretwell is an adjunct professor at Montana State University, and a Research Fellow at the Property and Environment Research Center. No stranger to controversial issues, Professor Fretwell has consulted on timber export regulations in the Pacific Northwest and for the Center for International Trade in Forest Products. She has authored and co-authored numerous articles on natural resources issues, with a current emphasis on public lands management and educating students and teachers in environmental economics. Her articles have been published in both professional journals and the popular press, including the Wall Street Journal, Journal for Environmental Economics and Management, the Duke Environmental Law and Policy Forum, and Journal of Forestry.

Professor Fretwell is our guest tonight on a special Friday Night edition of Political Pistachio Radio at 10 PM Eastern Time, 7 PM Pacific. Call in to chime in at 646-652-2940. If you listen live, feel free to join the always jumping chatroom - or you can feel free to contact me during the show with your own questions on Yahoo Instant Messenger (ID: douglasvgibbs).

This special broadcast of Political Pistachio Radio will immediately follow the premier of CIR Radio, on which I will be a panel member. This show combines the talents of myself, Jenn of Jenn's Jungle Republic Radio, Dave from My Point Radio, and Nikki Starr of Nicki Rocks the Politics. It will air live at 9 PM Eastern Time, 6 PM Pacific.

Schmoozing With Terrorists and battling the illegal alien invasion

Three guests tonight will join Mrs. Pistachio and myself on Political Pistachio Radio. First, during the first segment of the show, we will be joined by Aaron Klein, author of "Schmoozing With Terrorists." Mr. Klein is an American journalist who had unprecedented access to jihad cells throughout the Middle East, and in those interviews performed by Aaron the terrorists revealed the details of their ideologies to him. By the way, Mr. Klein is a Jew. One listener will win a free copy of Mr. Klein's book - tune in to find out how!

Then, in the later part of the first half hour Terry Funderburk will pay us a return visit to talk about what has happened in his situation since the last time he was on our show. Terry is a South Carolina construction business owner who is going out of business because his competitors hire illegal aliens, thus pay lower wages to their workers. Terry, then, upset by the circumstances, protested with a sign in front of one of his competitors jobsites with a sign that indicated illegals were working on that job site. The police came, but not to take away the illegal aliens, but to arrest Mr. Funderburk.

Then, during the second half of the broadcast Mike Gray will call in to talk about his situation in Colorado. Mike Gray is an employee for Arapahoe County outside of Denver. When he is not at work for the county, he runs his own lawn care business. The truck he uses for his business is the same truck and trailer he uses for going to work at his day job with the county of Arapahoe. The sign on his trailer reads, "Lawn Services done with Pride by an English Speaking American." Because of the sign, his bosses at his job for the county threatened to let him go. Oh, he likes to wear a Border Patrol Cap too, by the way.
